Peixuan's Most Memorable Childhood Memory
Sunday, April 11, 2010 5:46 AM
When I was primary 6, I participated in a long jump national competition. I remember two days before my long jump competition, I had my high jump competition and I had injured my back. My coach told me to rest well but I did not take his words in and insisted of training. Long jump is an important event to me and I wish to win my ‘enemy’ (sort of).The night before the competition, I spent almost the night watching long jumps videos and books of it. I thought I will get a good result however I did badly which is more than I expected. That day is my painful and tired day. I sprained my ankle during competition because of my landing position. My coach and teachers were disappointed of me and I felt very regret. If I had heeded my coach’s advice, I wouldn’t have landed in this situation. I have to go hospital for check-up and cure my injure ankle. I cried the whole day and my friends took a long time to cheer me up. Although my coach was disappointed of me, he did not blame me as he knows that I do not want to get injure. This is my most regretful and memorable incident which give me a lesson of being stubborn (not really).
