My most memorable childhood memory took place when I was 8 years old. At the end of the year, I received an award for being the best in Maths in the whole level. It was the first time I went on stage to receive an award then. Feeling nervous to go up and receive the award, I shivered when my name was called. I slowly climbed the stairs at the side of the stage. As I walked to the principal, I tripped over my shoelaces and fell down with a loud thud. With all the guests watching me, I felt so embarrassed then.
Soon, I broke down. Some guests were staring at me with horror while others went on stage to help me up. The teachers at the side of the stage also helped me up. After that, we went to the washroom to wash my face. When I came back to where the guests were seated, everyone turned to look at me. I did not dare to face them but suddenly, the principal walked up to me and shook my hand. She then gave me the award and all the guests applauded and cheered.
Hence, it was my most memorable childhood memory.
